Referral for Advanced Imaging
Advanced imaging such as MRI or CT is usually necessary to evaluate the soft tissue injuries that are typical in motor vehicle collisions.
We do have imaging centers here in B/CS who accept LOPs, and they are very good at getting patients in quickly.
Other Healthcare Providers
We work with other healthcare providers such as Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialists, orthopedic specialists, neurosurgeons, Physical Therapists, mental health professionals, and more, so that you get the care that you need to recover from your injuries.

What to Expect
First Visit
On your first visit, we will do a thorough history, a detailed examination, x-rays (if necessary and warranted), and we will begin with gentle pain-relieving therapeutic modalities such as electrical muscle stimulation. We will not do an adjustment on your first visit, because we need time to review your x-rays prior to doing any adjustments.
Second Visit
During your second visit, we will show you the x-rays taken on the first visit and discuss the findings of the examination. We will also present our recommendations for your course of treatment. After this discussion, we will begin with the first adjustment, and will likely do further pain-relieving therapeutic modalities.
Subsequent Visits
After the first and second visits, your appointments in our office will get a lot shorter. We will continue to treat the injuries using chiropractic adjusting and therapeutic modalities. In the second and third phase of care, we may incorporate gentle stretches and exercises to restore normal motion to the joints of the spine. We will perform re-examinations at various points along the way to ensure that we are meeting our treatment goals, and evaluate the need for changes to our original recommendations.
